Candied apples are an iconic Halloween treat, but in the world of beer we like to do things a little differently. So we’ve spiked the caramely, candy coating with Pyramid Outburst IPA, and the shiny red color of the standard apples is replaced with a haunted gloss black for an extra kick of Halloween spirit. We prefer this IPA because it’s a nice balance of malt and hops, it provides bold flavor, and because the resinous flavor of the hops pairs nicely with the caramelized coating. And because you only need ½ cup of beer for this recipe, it’ll leave you most of a beer, and plenty of a 6-pack, to finish while you get cooking.
Whether you’re spending Halloween at home or in a socially distanced gathering, you’re going to want to try this simple Halloween recipe.
